This is former BAE test registration ZH819. It was delivered to the Khalif bin Zayed Air College on 3 April 1995. The Hawk saw bad luck as it was written off on 14 December 2008 (as an Mk63C) after loss of engine power, the pilots experienced a dead-stick landing. Control was lost at a too late stage. One pilot ejected, the other remained in the aircraft. Both crew survived the crash. This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
