The C-160H Astarte (which meant Avion Station Relais de Transmissions Exceptionelles) was a modified Transall used as an airborne relay station for special VLF/ELF transmissions with French nuclear submarines. Four aircraft were modified and served within Electronic Squadron "Bigorre" (EA 1/59) from 1992 to 2001.
