On 18th May 2019 this Skylane II was being used as a parachute drop plane. During climb following take-off, the diesel engine cut-out at an altitutde around 300 to 500 m. The pilot could not restart the engine and they had to make an emergency landing in a field whilst attempting to return to LHBD. The nose leg stuck in the soft soil and broke, and the plane inverted. Fortunately the pilot and 4 parachutists on board all survived and the hulk is now stored in this old hangar.
