Delivered new to United Airlines as N6331C 'Mainliner Kansas City' in February 1957. Registered as N401US in 1964 and later served many years as a fire bomber, initially with Hemet Valley Flying Service and later with Butler Aviation and Erickson Aero Tankers. Still looking very smart in retirement, she was one of three stored, awaiting their fate at Madras.
