A petite parasol-winged single-seater powered by a 40-hp engine, the MS.185 was part of the MS.180 series, the prototype of which first flew in 1928. The type is sometimes called Avionette but I think this is a general term for lightplanes. This aircraft's original pre-war identity is F-AJRQ.
