Operated by the A&AEE, Boscombe Down which probably accounts for the silver finish. On 22 November 1963 it was landing at Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, Yorkshire when the landing gear hit the lip of the runway and collapsed. The aircraft caught fire as it slid down the runway and was burnt out. [I'm sure there are truck/lorry fans out there so I cropped the photo to include this 1953 to 1958 Bedford TA.] This photo was added on 29 August 2021, and has since been viewed 428 times. |
