he Dutch F-35A Lightning IIs started their first deployment early to mid-November 2020. Although they deployed only fifteen minutes of flight away from their northern home base Leeuwarden to the southern base Volkel, it's a necessary step for the squadron to become fully operational at the brand-new aircraft. Here F-011 departs Volkel in Indian Summer conditions for a mission over the northern part of the Netherlands.
