Originally designated F4-H1, this Phantom was redesignated F-4B in 1962, the year in which this photo was taken. In that year, it was based at Patuxent River, with the NATC. Only the cockpit section of this early production aircraft has survived and is now in the National Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola.
