This Albatross originally was USAF SA-16A 51-7238. It was transferred to the USCG as an UF-1G in May 1958, later converted to an UF-2G and in 1962 renamed HU-16E. It was sold to Wally McDonnell in Aug 1974 and parked at Mojave as seen here, but it was damaged in a storm on 30 Dec 1974 and did not get a civil registration. Some of that damage is still apparent in this photo. Ten years later, in Apr 1984, the registration N4955E was reserved for it but not taken up. In Oct 1984 it became ZP-TWT, fate unknown.
