Looking magnificent after preparation by Monarch/Airline Engineering for Aerocaribbean, this was their second of three Britannias, joining CU-T669 (transferred from Cubana as CU-T114). Ex RAF XM496 and Afrek G-BDUP, operated until the airline's final Brit flight on 22.3.90, a 3-engine ferry from Guayaquil to Havana after diversion en-route from Lima. To Transair as 9Q-CJH and famously made the last ever Britannia flight, back to the UK on 14.10.97 as EL-WXA, now beautifully restored as XM496 at Kemble This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
