A fully armed "Q2" belonging to 1 Squadron backtracks down the main after completing a four and half hour long sortie after it and the primary "Q1" were scrambled earlier in the day. Because fast jet operations at RAF Leuchars are rapidly drawing to a close, I decided to sit it out and wait for the jet's return, as photographing a Q bird is quite a rare event. Luckily it returned at dusk just before the light faded. This would be one of the last opportunities to photograph a fully armed Q jet at RAF Leuchars.
