Macará is the border town of Ecuador with Peru and it sees little air traffic. In fact a loud siren is used to clear the people off the runway in case of any traffic, as the locals use it as a short cut when carrying heavy groceries. Here there is a dog and a pedestrian on the runway during the take off for the long flight back to Guayaquil.
