Though officially activated and assigned an identifier by the FAA in December 2017, this heliport has been extant since at least some time after December 1993, based on a study of old aerial imagery. A previous pad, simply marked on an adjacent bit of parking lot a few feet to the northwest, was used sometime between 1988 and 1993. The hospital itself opened in 1973.
