The 747-400D (Domestic) is a short range version with dense seating and slightly shorter wings without winglets. It was developed for flights within Japan and was - until the introduction of the Airbus A380 - the aircraft with the highest seating capacity in the world (568 in typical configuration). Only 19 aircraft of this short-haul variant were built, of which eight went to JAL and eleven to ANA.
