Spring Airlines was considering the fitment of standing-room cabins, subject to Civil Aviation Authority of China approval, the Shanghai-based low-cost carrier claiming that they could sell tickets for 30-40% less. They would configure the A320 with 24 premium and 78 economy seats then 120 standing spots with padded back and armrests. Not surprisingly Airbus were not supportive!
