The Prowler was an entirely different aircraft to the EA-6A (modified from the A-6A) and was not based on the A-6B despite the designation. It carried a crew of four, the pilot and three ECM operators. This, the first of 170 built, was retained for development by the NATC at Patuxent River, MD, and arrived at MASDC three months prior to the photo date.
