Space Shuttle Independence, seen here mounted on Shuttle Carrier Aircraft N905NA, is not a real Shuttle, but a very accurate full-scale replica. It was constructed in the early 1990s and placed on display at the Kennedy Space Center in 1993, then named "Explorer". In late May 2012 it was transported by barge to Houston, where it arrived on June 1st. Explorer was placed on display at the Space Center Houston on poles, and in October 2013 it was renamed "Independence". On 14 August 2014 the replica Shuttle was placed on top of Shuttle Carrier Aircraft N905NA, which had arrived at the Space Center Houston in late April 2014.

The prototype Pulqui I jet fighter designed by Émile Dewoitine for the Argentinian air force in the late 1940s. The type did not see quantity production. It was undergoing refurbishment at Rio Cuarto at the time and was later moved to its display location at the museum in Moron again.

Preserved in the town of Tandil, near the air base, is this unknown IAI Finger, once built as a Mirage VJ-200 and subsequently upgraded to IAI Nesher, Dagger and Finger.

The IA-41 Urubú is a tailless, two-seat side-by-side flying wing glider, built by the Fábrica Militar de Aviones (FMA) of Argentina starting in 1951.

The Argentinian navy received four AS555SN Fennec for operational use; this is the fifth (complete) helicopter which was apparently delivered as an instructional airframe, seen here stored with the naval aviation museum.

A single remaining frame is all that is left of 41 FMA Ae.M.O.1 observation aircraft built.

This flying wing glider was designed by German designer Reimar Horten. The IA-34M single seater, of which only two were built, participated in the 1952 World Gliding Championship in Spain painted in the colours of Argentinian flag and achieved the 4th place.

A model of the MAXR-1, a military trainer designed in Uruguay, belongs to the collection of the Museo Aeronautico at Carrasco. The aircraft never made it past this stage of development.

In the mid 1980s 13 F-86Ds were stored at Karup, and this photo shows seven of them. The 13 aircraft were serials F-018, F-118, F-123, F-303, F-307, F-427, F-474, F-500, F-504, F-952, F-953, F-977 and F-984. They were all former Esk728 aircraft withdrawn from use in March 1966, and they were eventually scrapped in the late 1980s.

On display in the museum at Carrasco, Montevideo's airport, is this restored Castaibert 70 hp. Uruguay's military aviation school used five Castaibert aircraft, all with different hp-engines built by French engineer Paul Castaibert, between 1917 and 1919. This particular example was taken on strength in January 1917, retired in December 1919, being replaced by the Avro 504K.

The Buhl A-1 autogyro, built in 1931, was optimized for camera work, with a pusher propeller behind the pilot and camera operator. Only one aircraft was built before the company ceased operation in 1933 during The Depression. This autogyro is a replica.

The Fleetwings Model 27 was a private venture radio controlled aerial gunnery target built in 1940 and known as the A-1. It had fabric covered 20ft span wings with split flaps and fabric covered empennage and flight controls. A Continental A65 engine gave a top speed of 180 mph. The radio set was located in a compartment positioned on the center of gravity, so with the equipment removed it could carry a pilot. On 1 April 1940 test pilot William H. Engle took it for a flight from the Aircraft Radio Corporation airfield at Boonton/NJ. Military designation believed to be OQ-1. No further examples were built. Collection holder William Engle is the son of Fleetwings test pilot William H. Engle.

This aircraft was built and used in the movie "Amelia."

Seen after a repaint, but prior to the application of new titles and serial. Ex Polish AF 0316, N316BC. Was stored at Paris, TX for a period, unknown when she came to Cleves. Reg N316BC cancelled 12 July 2017 as expired.

This is a non-flying replica built by Qantas. It is of the airline's first aircraft . That was an Australian made 504K fitted with a Sunbeam Dyak engine. Became G-AUBG. and later VH-UBG. Withdrawn from use in 1932. In 1965 Qantas fitted a Dyak engine to a borrowed 504K, A3-4, owned by the Australian War Memorial. It was painted like the replica. Returned in 1987 with its rotary engine refitted and in RAAF markings. Qantas by then had built two replicas of G-AUBG, one of which is pictured.
