Someone is having his back warmed. This always impressive freighter was delivered as CCCP-78815 in July 1989 and first seen in eastern Germany the following year. Still based in Novgorod, it became RA-78815 in 1993 and received the basic Aeroflot colours in 2010. The RF-serial was likely applied in 2015.

Strizhi support aircraft arriving some five minutes after the MiGs. In May 2018, the guns were still in the tail turret, so they must have been removed not too long before this visit to Iran.

IL-76 Action in Limburg

This Il-76 was delivered to the Chosonminhang (CAAK) in August 1990, which became Air Koryo in March 1992, and is pictured taxying out from Cargo to rw34 for departure (presumably) back to Pyongyang (FNJ). The frame is apparently still current.

In basic Trans Avia Export pictured at Kabul. The Il-76 became damaged beyond economical repair on 9 Mar'07 during a flight from Entebbe to Mogadishu. On its final approach to Mogadishu (at a flight level of some 120-150 metres) it was hit by a Rocket Propelled Grenade fired by Islamic rebels from a small boat. The RPG hit the fuselage near the left main landing gear and caused a fire, the crew managed to land the Il-76 safely. The a/c was cannibalised, and parts were to be flown out by Il-76TD EW-77849 on 23 Mar'07. That 849 was shot down during departure... 826 was fully scrapped by nov'12.

Taxying out for a flight to Warsaw we passed this line of aircraft UR-76778, UR-76705, UR-76717 and an unidentified Yak 42. The nose of 76717 is covered due to damage caused during an air show on 27th July 2002 when a Ukrainian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27UB performing low-altitude manoeuvres hit it. The Sukhoi crashed in flames into spectators, killing 77. Both pilots of the Su-27 ejected and survived but were later imprisoned for their negligence. UR-76717 was not broken up until 2012
