They were not permitted to leave her to sink at the remote location, to protect the environment. She was recovered to Calgary, acquired by Joe McBryan and repaired in Tucson. In storage as shown for less than a year at the photo date, missing the #1 and #3 engines. For sale with 41,709.5 hours total time.

This DC-4 was on a flight from Fairbanks to Nixon Fork Mine with 3,000 gallons of heating oil on January 7, 2007 when the #2 engine caught fire and the crew was forced to make an emergency landing on the tundra near Nenana. The damaged aircraft was disassembled and moved to Nenana Airport where it was stripped of its useful components. It has been a fixture at the airport ever since.

Here in the process of being repainted and readied by operator Globe Air. This was ex USAF 45-0627, purchased from the AMARC by the Helitec Corp in Mar 81 and sold to Globe Air (formerly Aircraft Specialities Inc) in Aug 81. It was re-reg N811E in Mar 82. Globe Air went into voluntary liquidation in 1985. The aircraft, now registered to an individual, was seen stored at Kingman AZ in May 90. In Jun 91 it was purchased by Brooks Air Fuel. Finsished up damaged beyond repair in a landing accident at Point Lay AK 8 Oct 93.

This was ex USAF 45-0627, purchased from the AMARC by the Helitec Corp in Mar 81 and sold to Globe Air (formerly Aircraft Specialities Inc) in Aug 81. It was re-reg N811E in Mar 82. Globe Air went into voluntary liquidation in 1985. The aircraft, now registered to an individual, was seen stored at Kingman AZ in May 90. In Jun 91 it was purchased by Brooks Air Fuel. Finsished up damaged beyond repair in a landing accident at Point Lay AK 8 Oct 93.
