At a public event flying the flag for the 3 sponsors, the helicopter was owned by Lloyd Helicopters. It would have been used by Channel 7 and radio station 5AD (no longer exists) for news gathering.

I lived near the school at the time and saw the helicopter landing in that direction and went to investigate. I cannot recall if there was an event on but it may have been a school function. The helicopter stayed for a while and left and I don't know the reason for its visit.

The flight was also the first solo helicopter flight across the Atlantic Ocean and the first solo flight from the U.S.A. to Australia by helicopter.
