Built in 1953 for service with the Fleet Air Arm as WP495, she is seen here painted in S-51 BEA colours. The real G-AJOV had the claim to fame in that it inaugurated the world's first ever scheduled helicopter service that operated between Liverpool and Cardiff.

Ex Royal Navy Dragonfly HR.5 after disposal on the civil market. It wears the badge of HMS Goldcrest (RNAS Brawdy). It was not converted for civil use.

Towed out of the hangar to provide a clear view of the hangared Dak for the Yorkshire Air Museum Night Shoot.

The Dragonfly was a licence-built version of the American Sikorsky S-51 and used by the RN in the SAR and comms. role until replaced by the Westland Whirlwind. This particular example served with the RN from 1953 until 1966 when it was retired to the Fleet Air Arm Museum where it is now on display in Hall 2.

Dragonfly WG752 is representing Jezebel, a Sikorsky-built S-51 which was the first helicopter in the Netherlands. It was put to good use during the 1953 flood disaster.
