In 1975 Florida Airlines took over both Air South and Shawnee Airlines, because their route networks supplemented that of Florida Airlines perfectly. The two airlines continued to operate under their own names as Florida Airlines subsidiaries, but their combined routes were marketed as "The Connection". Some aircraft carried large "The Connection" titles, and often also the actual airline's name in smaller size. The reg was cancelled in Apr 77. I saw a photo of it still at Sarasota in 2013 albeit in a more derelict state.

Although originally built for the USAAF, BFV is unusual in having a RH pax door, normally only found on some pre-WW II civil models. Possibly installed when in United Airlines service. After retirement, the wings were sold in the US with the rest staying on at CYWG. This caused some confusion as traces of the registration were visible when they were used on another air-frame.

Seized by the Drug Enforcement Administration in 1982. To the USAF Museum and loaned to the Aerospace Museum of California at Sacramento. N401JB was dismantled in 1985. King Skyliner was a Japanese tour operator which had contracted Horizon Cargo to conduct sight-seeing flights. The operation ended in litigation between Horizon Cargo and a company called Airgo. Airgo had a contract with Horizon to supply, operate and maintain this passenger DC-3 and a DC-3 freighter.

JM Air painted their DC-3 in the actual and wonderful Civil Air Transport colours and matching registration which it carried when it operated for that airline in China in the 1940s and early 1950s. It is seen here taxiing in after landing, having just arrived from the Daks over Normandy event at Caen, France.
