After its withdrawal from service in 1972 it was stored in a state of dereliction before it was transferred to Kasparel's scrapyard at Birzebbuga in 1978 but remained intact. Registration cancelled 17 June 1981. In 1991 it was transferred to the International Fire Training Centre at the old Hal Far airport site for non-destructive work. It went to the museum in 1996. Not the best conditions for photography in one of the WWII blister hangars.
