In service on the Northern Air Cargo ramp at Anchorage International. Formerly with Trans-Air-Link, joined Northern Air Cargo in 1989. Withdrawn from use by 2008. Acquired by Everts Air Cargo in 2009. Stored at Fairbanks and broken up for parts.

Delivered to Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux (TAI) as F-BGOC in 1953 who merged into Union de Transports Aériens (UTA) in 1963. To the French Air Force as 43834/64-PI in 1966 then to UTA Industries in 1977 and converted to a firebomber. To the Sécurité Civile as F-ZBAE in 1980. Crashed into a cliff on approach to Perpignan in bad weather in 1985.

CP-1282 has been lying in storage at El Alto since about 2000 - looking mostly intact besides of the rudder fabric - still there according GE images (together with sister ship CP-1283)

A pre-delivery publicity shot of the ill-fated VH-BPE. On October 29, 1953 it flew into the ground while on approach to San Francisco killing all 19 onboard including renowned violinist William Kapell. The accident led to the end of BCPA, owned by the Australian, New Zealand and British governments. Qantas took over the trans-Pacific route and TEAL, a joint NZ-Australian airline, took over BCPA's remaining DC-6s as it prepared to end flying boat services.
