Owned by several civilian operators over the years. 9/52: Cannon nose was replaced by a standard B-25J 8-gun nose. 10/55: Husky Oil Co., Cody, WY, and several executive modifications were made, including the installation of an air stair and pointed tail cone. 1970: Flew in the movie, "Catch-22." 5/72: Donated to the EAA Aviation Foundation. Oshkosh, WI. From 1975 to 1985: Complete restoration and a standard B-25J glass nose was installed. By 7/21: Restored as when in "Catch-22."

They used the plane as a sprayer until February 1974 when it was donated to the Battleship Alabama Memorial Park in Mobile. It was transported there slung under a CH-54 helicopter.

The aircraft appears to be part-way through a repaint, with only the false serial 02344 applied. No national markings yet.

20 Mar '45: Delivered to USAAF as B-25J 44-30988; transferred to the Navy. 21 Mar '45: NAS Elizabeth City, NC; converted to PBJ-1 35857. 2/47: War Assets Administration. 8 Mar '47: SOC. 7/1/47: Registered NR5865V. Several more owners with more modifications. 1972 to 1979: WFU; open storage at Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 1981 to 1982: Restored to flying condition, marked as a B-25. 12/85: Confederate Air Force. 1994 to May 2016: Restoration to PBJ-1, with parts from B-25J 44-28765.

Ca.3/45: TOS USAAF as B-25J. Ca.1946: Redesignated TB-25J. Ca.1954: Converted to TB-25N. By 5/60: Turner AFB, GA. Last B-25 in the Air Force inventory. 21 May 1960: Last flight; Turner AFB to Eglin AFB, FL; a ceremony held presenting the plane to Valparaiso, FL. Present was the Commander of SAC's 822nd Air Division, Commander of Eglin AFB Air Proving Ground Center and four Doolittle Tokyo Raiders. Placed on display at Doolittle Memorial Park in Niceville, FL, still marked in its bare metal USAF scheme. 1974: Donated to Air Force Armament Museum. Repainted and marked as Doolittle's aircraft.

Converted to TB-25N and returned to the 3345th TTW. 8/58: SOC; put on display at Thunderbird Air Park at Chanute. 1993: Chanute Air Museum. The Chanute Museum closed on 31 Oct 2015. By 2016: Southern Museum of Flight in Birmingham, AL.
