Built for American Airlines as N6111A in 1959. To Air California as N278AC in November 1966 and flown by them until 1969. Bought by various leasing companies between 1970 and 1974 and leased to Ecuatoriana as HC-AZL in June 1974. Sold to TAME and operated as HC-AZL/FAE150 between October 1974 and April 1986 when bought by Varig and registered PP-VNJ. Bought by Interlink in South Africa and registered HR-AML in October 1993. Registered EL-WWS in December 1997 and flown to Linz for spares use by Amerer Air. Later scrapped.

In 1970 Vance International Airways was purchased by McCulloch Oil Company, changing the name to McCulloch International Airlines. Re-equipped with American Airlines Lockheed Electras, they flew potential land buyers to properties near Lake Havasu City, AZ. This aircraft would see the color scheme updated by changing the green cheat line to red and eventually adding the McCulloch logo. Later with Ansett ANA and Evergreen International Airlines, the aircraft was with the Armada Argentina as 6-P-101 when it crashed on September 29, 1989 at Almirante Zar Naval Air Station at Trelew, Argentina.

At the end of fire season, the Electras were coming back to Red Deer. C-FDTH was on contract to the Yukon Territory

ZK-TEC was on a training flight when the pilot attempted a non-standard landing maneuver demanded by the airline's training program. The aircraft hit the ground so hard the port wing was torn off as was most of the starboard wing. The tail also failed under the impact. Western Airlines flew passengers with this Electra (N9744C) from February 1961 until the end of 1968 when it was converted to a freighter. Next with Reeve Aleutian Airways September 1970 - September 2002, although the airline ceased flying in 2000. For Atlantic Airways the registration G-LOFH was allocated but never used. Registered N4HG to a trust company, the engines were used by the airline on other Electras. Stored at Coventry, it was made flyable and sold to Buffalo Airways in 2011 to become C-FIJV. Stored at Red Deer still in RAA colors, it has provided parts for their flyable L-188s.

When landing on runway 26 at this time in the evening (2005), the setting sun lights up the props. Sold to Buffalo Airways as C-GIZU in September 2016.

Leased by JBQ to Hunting 1994, inscrpiption on nosewheel door reads "Operated on behalf of HUNTING CARGO AIRLINES IRELAND". The Electras woud usually only appear on DHL night parcels flights but during the winter months fog or snow at the destination occasionally enabled daylight phtography.

Usually leading a nocturnal life it is seen here in broad daylight running up engines on taxiway "D" after repairs.

This aircraft was operated by Global Associates, a joint venture of the Atlas Corp. and H.C. Smith Construction Co., and used to fly personnel and supplies to the various bases that supported the Kwajalein Missile Range, headquartered on Kwajalein Atoll.
