This F-104 is a composite assembled from two former AMI Starfighters, MM6914 and MM6733 with the plane arriving at LIDH in July 2007. In May 2020 it was painted into this special scheme to commemorate the centenary of Arturo Ferrarin and Guido Masiero's 19,000 km Rome-to-Tokyo long distance flight. Only these two pilots of the initial eleven aircrews made it all the way from Italy to Japan, touching down within a hour of each other. Arturo Ferrarin was born in Thiene and as the first pilot to fly from Europe to Japan was also honoured as Altalia christened their second 747 after him in 1970.

To 1st Sqn JBG36 as DF+121 at Hopsten on 12 Mar 1965. Reserialled to 26+10 in first few months of 1968. With JBG33 at Buchel 16 Dec 1974. With JBG32 at Lechfeld 09 Jan 1976. With JBG33 at Buchel 10 Mar 1976. Crashed at Thalheim near Erding on 26 Aug 1982 due to engine failure after a bird strike shortly after take off from Erding AB. The pilot ejected safely. SOC 28 Mar 1983.

36 Stormo - 12 Gruppo based at Gioia del Colle in Italy. On a squadron exchange with either 56 or 74 Squadron. Later upgraded to a F-104S-ASA. Preserved on a pole in Piacenza with fake markings as MM6783. Last noted on 28 Mar 2023.

This example was built in Holland by Fokker and is the rarer RF-104G variant. Operated by JBG33 visiting TTTE from Buchel in West Germany. The unit was probably in the process of converting to the Tornado. Later transferred to Turkey with serial 8140.

This Starfighter was built in 1973 and last flew in 2004. It is now part of this super, small museum at Montagnana airfield.
