Operated by the Spanish Air Force between December 1954 and June 1973 as T.2B-275. Later marked as 721-16. To Warbirds of Great Britain between November 1977 and May 1985 as G-BFHF. 'N7-AA' markings added in May 1985. To an aircraft museum in/near Marl-Loemuhle (Germany) and marked as D-ADAM. To the Aviodrome in March 2007, where the markings '1Z-IK' were applied. It is now on display in the indoor exhibit '100 years of aviation', with the right side of the aircraft missing.

Became G-BECL

Situated on an islet in the Oslo Fjord, Oslo's first airport maybe wasn't very practical, but it was surely idyllic! Brand new in the summer of 1936, this Ju 52 was captured by the German army in 1940 and put in Lufthansa service as D-AQUI. Returned to DNL as LN-KAF in 1946. Scrapped, but the wings were used to restore c/n 130714, which later became Lufthansa's vintage Tante Ju 'D-AQUI' - see photo 70519 for details. Photo from: Nasjonalbiblioteket (Norway)

K25 slide scan. Built 1939 for Swiss Air Force and active until 1981. In service with JU-Air from 1983, initially keeping its Flugwaffe colours. Withdrawn 2018 after the crash of sistership HB-HOT, overhaul started in 2019 aiming for restoration to flying condition.

Another interesting puzzle. The Ju 52 production list quickly revealed the aircraft name, but also that Lufthansa had four Iron Annies named Olaf Bielenstein between 1935 and 1945. The source says this is a 'German naval station', implying a wartime shot. However, a look under the wing rules out D-AVAJ, D-AIAG and D-ASHB, so this must be D-APOR, which served on the DLH route to Oslo in 1936. To Syndicato Condor as PP-CBF in 1938. Ex Spanish Air Force T.2B-165, D-CIAK. Widely quoted as c/n 96, and officially registered as such. But recent research has confirmed that T.2B-165 was c/n 56. The number 96 may be its fuselage number.

Built in 1946, it started life as F-BBYB with STA-Société Transatlantique Aérienne registered in Aug-1946. From Sep-1947 to 1948 it was leased to COSARA in then French Indochina. In Oct-1948 it went to the French Air Force as 222. In 1950 it was delivered to the Yugoslavian Air Force where it was serialled 7208. From 1951 to 1953 it flew temporarily as YU-ACF with JAT. At an unknown date it was converted with P&W R-1340 engines. It made its last flight in 1965 when it flew to Belgrade where it was stored. Arrived at Rand Airport on delivery on 5 Nov 1934 (with ZS-AFA and ZS-AFB), and was registered to S.A. Lugdiens on 3 Dec 1934. The registration was cancelled on 30 Mar 1938, and the aircraft was returned to Junkers, becoming D-AGFD. Also carries "S.A.S. & H." titles, which stands for Suid-Afrikaanse Spoorweë en Hawens (South African Railways and Harbours).

Falsely painted as British Airways G-AFAP, but is in fact ex Spanish AF T.2B-272. The real G-AFAP was Ju 52 c/n 5881.

First flown on 18 July 1936, this was the sole Ju 52 owned by DDL before WWII. The forward fuselage was painted red. After the outbreak of the war, 'Denmark' was painted on the roof, with Danish flags on wings and tail surfaces. DDL was allowed to carry on flying under the German occupation of Denmark. Selandia crashed near Vienna - Aspern on 18 December 1942.
