Painted as I-091, but it really is C-094. Delivered in June 1949 as I-094 and to C-094 in December 1959. Withdrawn in December 1970 and was one of twelve Meteors that took part in a farewell flypast over Buenos Aires on 29th December 1970. Later displayed, initially as I-091 and later C-091 (which crashed in October 1964) at the Grupo de Vigilancia y Control del Espacio Aereo (VYCEA) headquarters at Merlo in southwestern Buenos Aires. Believed still present at time of upload. The Aircraft Map above shows where it was at the time of the photo, around 2008 it moved 120m east.

This Armstrong Whitworth-built Meteor was allocated RAF serial WM296, but it never flew as such. Instead, it was transferred to the Armée de l'Air immediately after delivery, for use by the Centre d'Essais en Vol (CEV) for guided weapons testing. Withdrawn from use in mid 1985, the aircraft became part of the collection of the Musée Aéronautique de Champagne (Brienne-le-Château) in 1988. By 2001, it had moved to the Musée Européen de l'Aviation de Chasse, as seen here. Date and location of the picture are unknown.

On 16 June 1955 members of the Argentine military staged a bloody coup against the Perón regime, with aircraft indiscriminately attacking the Plaza de Maya area and killing over 300 civilians, according to Wikipedia's Bombing of Plaza de Mayo article. The coup failed and up to 40 aircraft evaded to Montevideo in Uruguay where their crews and passengers were interned. Hank Walker's photos presumably show the aircraft being picked up by loyalist personnel. On the right is a C-54 of the Argentine navy. I-094 to C-094 in 1959. Preserved in a park in Merlo, Buenos Aires. Photo by: Hank Walker / Life

Built in 1953 as a Meteor NF.11, RAF serial WM261. Used as a trials aircraft by Armstrong-Whitworth and Ferranti. Converted to NF.14 standard as the prototype of that version. Became G-ARCX in 1960, going into operational service at Edinburgh with the Ferranti Flying Unit, as a radar test and development aircraft. Now on static display in Scotland's National Museum of Flight, at East Fortune, East Lothian, where it has been since 1973.
