Arrow Air used a variety of types for their passenger charters to Gatwick in 1973. This DC-8-73 was acquired by Arrow in May 1983, and had very quickly been re-registered as N919JW by the time I saw it again at Gatwick on 10th July.

ex Scandinavian Airlines (SE-DBD), ex ONA Overseas National Airways (N916R), ex Icelandair (TF-FLB), ex Kabo Air (5N-AWE). Over to MK Airlines in March 1995. Re-registered 9G-MKE in May 1996. To the Congolese Airforce (9T-TDA) in March 2005. Re-registered 9T-TCN in 2011. Reported stored nowadays.

Delivered to Iberia April 1966 as EC-BAV. For Spanish Air Force April 1978 as T.15-1. Connie Kalitta / Kalitta American International registered it as N810CK in November 1989 and after while in storage in Opa-Locka converted it to Freighter in 1991. Reported to be broken up around 2000.

Carries on its nose the trademark of its North Carolina humanitarian organisation, "Helping in Jesus' Name". Seen returning to Prestwick towards dusk for an overnight stop, after airlifting an emergency field hospital to Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport (RZE) in southeastern Poland. This will be transported into Ukraine to provide medical care for Ukrainians in the current crisis.

Originally reserved as PH-DCA but delivered as above in 1960 after conversion from Series 32. Scrapped at Miami (KMIA) while with Conner Air Lines as N53CA.

slide scan from the NK colllection. - One of the two ex KLM DC-8s in Martinairs fleet. This aircraft was sold to African Safari in 1973 and was seen in storage at Stansted in 1977, still wearing the famous zebra colours of the African airline.

Originally a DC-8-63 with Flying Tigers (N790FT) from 1969, the freighter was leased to Air India for almost a year (1982 - 1983). Flying Tigers sold and leased it back from Cammacorp during Air India's lease. Cammacorp took the aircraft back in July 1984 and converted it to a DC-8-73 for lease to German Cargo / Lufthansa Cargo 1984 - 1997 (D-ADUE), Next it flew with Emery Worldwide Airlines and Air Transport International (N606AL) until stored at Mojave, CA in 2012. Leased to Ribway Cargo Airlines in 2014 as 5Y-RCA, the aircraft was flown to Wilmington on delivery, but was still there by June 2020.
