Operated by Florida Airlines from 1974 to 79. Remained in their colours Withdrawn from use at Sarasota, FL by 1987. Front fuselage seen in a scrapyard in Denver in 2005.

Note the flat tyre. The previous evening I had flown into YHY (from Yellowknife) on this a/c. I watched it depart YHY a little later and noticed smoke coming from the port engine. The aircraft made a circuit and landed, bursting its starboard tyre on landing. It was still awaiting attention when I took this photo the next morning. This same aircraft suffered an accident after take off from Yellowknife 19 Aug 2013. This time it was the starboard engine just as the aircraft rotated. A combination of being overweight and the prop not fully feathering resulted in an off airport emergency landing.

Salvaged and repaired. Used by other operators. To the Museum of Mountain Flying, Missoula, MT in 2001 and painted in its original Johnson Flying Service colours.

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-15728 in 1944. Sold as NC63440 in 1946, N63440 after 1948. Withdrawn from use at Arlington, WA by 1979. Has been restored as 315728. Still at Arlington, in 2021. Visible on the satellite image.

This was an old friend I had photographed back in Abbotsford BC in Jun 1986 when it was still operated by the The Department of Transportation Canada (as CF-CUE). It was acquired by Buffalo Airways in Feb 95. It wasn't until 2008 that it was seen in the Buffalo livery and once again showing CF-CUE.

Later flew with Mercury Airlines and South Coast Air Service before acquisition by Aces High at North Weald (EGSX)..

Registered N161PR with US Navy Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division based Patuxent River supporting the Atlantic Test Ranges as a tracking aircraft.
