It is painted in a short-lived pre-war orange livery. In September 1939, a KLM DC-3 operating a flight from Copenhagen to Amsterdam was shot at by a German fighter. After this, KLM put the word 'Holland' on the fuselage in large font, to prevent further misunderstandings (The Netherlands was (still) neutral at the time). At some point, the orange livery was introduced to further lower the threat to KLM's aircraft.

Unfortunately this plan could never be executed. After the 2011 bankruptcy of the Aviodrome, the aircraft was acquired by Classic Wings as a volunteer restoration project. Paperwork and financial issues proved too much of a hurdle and the aircraft was transported to the Warmuseum in Overloon (The Netherlands) in December 2017.

Acquired in 1946 as PH-TBI then re-registered as above. In November 1964 it was transferred to KLM Aerocarto N.V. and on 25 October 1968 it collided with a cloud shrouded Tafelberg mountain in Surinam while making a single-engine emergency descent.
