Delivered to the Army as XL764 in 1958. To Arborfield for use as ground trainer 7940M in 1967. Sold in 1975. To the Newark Air Museum in 1980.

Originally started life as an Army Air Corps AOP.10 with a 200 hp D.H. Gipsy Major engine. It was subsequently converted to AOP.12 standard(circa 1957-8) with the fitting of a 215 hp Gipsy engine but may not have been retrofitted to full AOP.12 standard. Delivered to the Army as XN351 in 1960. To the Torbay Aircraft Museum, Barton Pines in 1971 then to the Wales Aircraft Museum in 1980. Registered as G-BKSC in 1983 and moved to Shobdon then to other locations. To Morayavia Museum, Kinloss in 2019.

Preview for the "handover ceremony" on the 19th May 2023. The volunteers have made a fantastic job of rebuilding the aircraft and repainting the tailboom. It has been mounted on a purpose built frame which shows it in a typical "running" Skeeter take off position!

One of 3 gate guardians at Middle Wallop at the time. Composite with XL769 pod and XL738 boom. Allocated maintenance serial 7981M. To Handforth 1975 for potential restoration. Registered G-BDNS January1976. Restoration believed not completed and parts used in G-HELI.

A rather demeaning role for this Skeeter. Preserved and displayed in the Science Museum, South Kensington, London. Still present in 2023.

Being readied to take it to the "60th Anniversary" of the types first flight which was held at Fleming Park, Eastleigh on 3rd August 2008(nearest venue to Eastleigh Airport where Saunders-Roe used to have their facility) The tailboom was fitted just to take a photo' As you can see the tailboom was much too long for transportation and it had to be left behind as it wouldn't fit on the trailer or in the towing vehicle!! Since this photo was taken it has had glazing panels and doors fitted. The engine panels have always been left off to enable visitors to inspect the engine & ancillary equipment.

Displayed as an ambulance, complete with nurse. On top of the rotor head is a rocket fuel tank feeding auxiliary power nozzles fitted to the blade tips of G-AMTZ. According to the Napier company this fuel tank could be 'in the form of a quick-change unit suitable for use as a transport and storage container'. Photo from: Saunders-Roe
