This aircraft had been bought the day before on 13 Oct 1978 and went onto the civil register as N9015Q and was operated by EMI Aircraft Services until being seized by the US Dept of Justice in Aug 1979. It then flew as a water bomber for ARDCO and was active at Opa Locka with Florida Air Transport in 2012 when I saw it again. Acquired by the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation in Sep 2020 as N500EJ and still current in Dec 2023.

I am not sure about the identity of this aircraft. It seems to have a MASDC storage code "4CC258" on the nose gear door, but I can not find any history of that. Storage code "CC258" however belongs to a VC-54E with serial 44-9067 with cn 27293, which arrived at Davis Monthan on October 23, 1974 with no known history after that. Any more information about this aircraft would be appreciated.
