3 Apr 1945: TOS USAAF as B-17G. Many non-bombing units operated this plane. Mar-Jun 1950: Converted to DB-17G, and later DB-17P, and operated with drone squadrons. May 1958: SOC at Patrick AFB, issued as a museum piece. May 1959: Strategic Air Command Museum, Offutt AFB, NE. 1997: Moved to new museum location in Ashland, NE. May 1999: Modified back to B-17G configuration.
