Preserved in 1964, KB839 recently received a wartime nose and was painted as 405 Sqn's JB226, LQ-G, "Gutless Gert" which was shot down on its 61st mission on Nov. 17/18, 1943 en route to Ludwigshaven. Rear fuselage section. Shot down over Belgium and crashed at Bas-Oha, to the West of Huy on the night of 12/13th August 1944. All seven crew were killed. The rear fuselage section was kept by a local farmer and eventually moved to a Dutch museum. It arrived at the museum in 2014.
