Air Line Feeder System was a small airline that served the New England region of the US. Ceased operations in September 1939. NC15109 flew on into the 1950s in Alaska. The last registered owner was Grand Central Airport Co at Glendale, CA. Registration cancelled in 1955 and the airport closed a few years later. The airport was run by Corliss Moseley, who continued to restore old aircraft on the airport site until 1972. What happened to NC15109 (N15109) is not known. Built by Percival Spencer and engineer Vincent Larsen at Farmingdale, Long Island, in May 1938. Amassed only 10 hours before it was dismantled but succeeded in visiting several airfields in close proximity to Farmingdale. Spencer made a second attempt at an amphibious flying boat in 1940, the Spencer Air Car. That design was sold to Republic and developed as the Seabee. Photo by: Rudy Arnold / Smithsonian Institution
