Half of the original Eastern Airlines passenger had been stripped out so that the fuselage skin could be replaced. Unfortunately, the original EAL interior was beyond salvaging and seats from a retired jetliner were substituted. In addition, overhead racks were not included in the restoration.

Very small Legendary Airliners titles and the famous Eastern Air Lines "Duckhawk" have been painted on the nose of this DC-7.

Getting some TLC after almost 33 years on the ground at Holman Field. Has extremely small Legendary Airliners titles on the nose.

Restoration work in original Eastern Air Lines livery was progressing at a furious pace during my November 2008 visit. An public open house was scheduled for Sunday December 21, 2008 and there was still much to be done.

After 5+ years, N836D is back in its full original Eastern Air Lines livery, and is now ready to fly! Operated by the Historical Flight Foundation.
