Photo taken before its first flight, which was as N31239. As the first of the shortest 707 model (only 13 built, all for Qantas), it undertook a brief test program. This meant VH-EBB was delivered to Australia first. It was named City of Canberra and -EBA was renamed City of Melbourne. Note that soon after delivery, -EBB reverted to its planned name of City of Sydney and VH-EBC became the third 707 to be named City of Canberra in a few months.

Owned by famed aviator Charles Kingsford Smith, VH-USB left Australia by air in October 1934 for the US. In September 1935 it was shipped on to the UK where it became G-ADUS for an attempt on the UK-Australia record. It crashed into the Gulf of Martaban, Myanmar, on November 8, 1935. An undercarriage leg washed up on Aye island but otherwise no traces of the -USB, Smithy and copilot Tommy Pethybridge were ever found.

NC777 was a pre-war civil version the military Catalina. This was the second Consolidated Model 28 to be registered NC777 and called Guba. The first went to the Soviet Union to search for a missing aviator and stayed. Zoologist Dr Richard Archbold took another aircraft. This Guba was used to explore what was then Dutch New Guinea, now the Indonesian province of Papua. NC777 surveyed an Indian Ocean crossing under contract to the Australian government. Later sold to the UK government and became G-AGBJ with BOAC.

VH-DRD crashed at Mooraberrie Station on January 11, 1952. It was stripped of useful parts and abandoned. The fuselage was taken to the homestead at the north side of the airfield and used as a chicken house. In 1980 the remains of -DRD were recovered to Mt Isa where they and parts from other aircraft were restored as a memorial for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Removing the fuselage from Mooraberrie required some caution as the world's deadliest land snake, the inland taipan, would have found it a happy hunting ground for mice and rats.
