Delivered new to Northwest Airlines in July 1949. To Lockheed Aircraft Corp. October 1959, and To Aero Spacelines, Inc. in 1963. When I took this slide N74603 was in the process of being restored to flying condition at Mojave. It was reregistered on 23 November 1973 with Bob's Airpark in Tucson, Arizona as the new owner. It was subsequently flown to Tucson, but never flew again, being scrapped there circa 1978. FAA registration was cancelled in November 1982.

This A-10A was put on display in February 2001 wearing its original markings from the 355th TTW at Davis-Monthan AFB, its last assignment before being retired to AMARC. Shortly before I took this photo it had been repainted as an A-10A assigned to an Eglin AFB test squadron. It has since been repainted back into the 355th TTW markings which it originally wore.

Although marked as a USN XR2O-1, this Lockheed 10-A never served in the Navy. Built in 1938 and exported to Australia as VH-ABV and operated by MMA. After WWII reregistered VH-MMD. Returned to U.S. in 1954 and from then through 1975 operated by several entities with reg. N4886V. Reregistered N19HL and stricken from register in 1980. In 1987 Valiant Air Command reregistered it as N19HL. Restoration to flight status was started, but in 2002 the a/c was donated to the NNAM where a static restoration was completed. Currently on display in the main museum building.
