It was used on the Adelaide-Whyalla run until late 1939 when it was flown to Perth and used by Macrobertson Miller Airlines on services in Western Australia. This Chippie has had a long and convoluted history. It was originally built for the RAF as WB616, then civilianised in the UK as G-AOSC. In 1957 it was imported by the Latrobe Valley Aero Club and appropriately registered VH-MOE(1) on 17 April that year. A year later it was sold to the Goulburn Aero Club, who re-registered it VH-GAH on 13 June 1961. The following year it was sold to the RACSA who re-registered it VH-BWM(2) on 24 August 1962. And another year later again it was sold to a private owner and re-registered VH-UEU(1) on 1 November 1963.

All is not as it seems! This aircraft was built as a civil Victa Airtourer 100 and registered VH-MFM on 30 August 1963. It was re-registered as VH-CNO(2) on 5 January 1967. It never served with the RNZAF but has been painted into fictitious markings, using the cn as a code. Judging by the spinner, it may have also been re-engined with a higher-power engine as well.

All is not as it seems! Originally N9911T, this Skylane was re-registered in Australia as VH-DZL(1) on 11 January 1961. Following a crash at Wilton NSW in February 1973, the aircraft was re-built as a taildragger with the tail of a Cessna 180. It was restored to the Register in this new configuration on 29 September 1980.

All is not as it seems! This aircraft was built as a Skylane, registered N8751X. It was re-registered in Australia as VH-RHQ(1) on 22 March 1961. At some point it was converted to a taildragger, but retained the swept Skylane fin. It was withdrawn from use on 6 March 1986 but restored as VH-PKD(2) on 31 October 1995, now with a Cessna 180-style fin. This makes it look very much like the original VH-PKD(1), which was a genuine C180, just to confuse things!
