In the first week of May 1971, six Turkish F-100s visited Hopsten, including the two on this picture F-100F 63976 and F-100D 53761. It is thought that this photo was taken during that event, which also included F-100Ds 53509, 62919 and 62966, and F-100F 63970. Both aircraft in this photo crashed later. The F-100F crashed in 1976 at Incirlik and the F-100D crashed on 31 May 1983 at Diyarbakir.
