One of the tasks of this squadron is flying QF-4s in support of the USAF Heritage Flight program at air shows or commemorative events. 72-1490 did just that when participating at the NAS Oceana Air Show of 2005. It flew with the 82nd ATRS until July 2014 when it was destroyed somewhere over White Sands Missile Range.
