A69-7213 was one of 24 F-4Es leased by the RAAF to cover delays in the delivery of its General Dynamics F-111s. The A69 prefix was issued out of sequence (the F-111s were A8 and the highest prefix a the end of 2017 was A54) for administrative purposes only and never applied to the aircraft. -7213 was returned to the USAF in October 1972 and later modified into an F-4G. For several years it sat next to Marshall's hangar (out of sight to the left of this photo) until the area was needed for a car park. It was then towed to the middle of the airport and the Marshall Airways titles removed. After Sid Marshall died, the DC-2 was sold to an American Airlines pilot but an export permit was refused. BCPA closed down after a major accident and the remaining DC-6s transferred to TEAL, which was another tri-national airline but with a higher New Zealand ownership. -BGA was sold to the New Zealand air force as NZ3631 in 1961, the year TEAL became an entirely New Zealand-owned airline. TEAL would later change its name to Air New Zealand. Negative held by Bill Gray, Perth, Australia.

When Qantas replaced its Super Constellations with 707s on the Pacific route, Pan Am was still operating Stratocruisers on most flights because its 707 fleet was stretched thin. N1025V taxiing for take-off from Sydney's Runway 25. When Qantas replaced its Super Constellations with 707s on the Pacific route, Pan Am was still operating Stratocruisers on most flights because its 707 fleet was stretched thin. US Army Air Force aircraft diverted from the Royal Air Force which it turn had taken over a French order. These aircraft were designated P-400 and like BW176, retained RAF serials and camouflage in US service. While many P-400s were used as trainers, others were rushed to the South West Pacific as emergency fighters. They fared better in ground attack than air combat. BW176 survived until June 19, 1943 when the pilot was forced to bail out over Papua New Guinea. The other two aircraft are P-39s with a standard olive drab finish. Formerly PK-ADD with KNILM and flown to Australia in 1942 to escape the Japanese advance through Indonesia. Impressed by the USAAF, it was operated by Australian National Airways (note small "ANA" on the nose) with the call sign VHCXC. It was given a temporary serial of 41-426 and later, after it was withdrawn from use, an official serial of 44-83232 and the official type designation C-110.
ANA bought the DC-5 after the war and it became VH-ARD. After a couple of changes of ownership, it went to Israel in 1948 as a makeshift bomber. It ended its days in a children's playground. Scanned from the original negative, now held by Bill Gray. Photographer's name unknown.

It is not known who owned it when it was photographed at Albury but by the end of 1927 it was in Papua New Guinea. G-AUCM was withdrawn from use in 1930 without adopting the VH- prefix (it would have been VH-UCM). Alexandra Park still exists in Albury and is about a kilometre from today's Albury Airport. The photo was found at a garage sale in Albury and the photographer is not known. The details were pencilled on the back.

Picture scanned from a negative, photographer unknown, taken on the occasion of the only visit to Sydney by TAA's first Viscount. It was chance for airport staff to become familiar with the new aircraft. But VH-TVA never entered service and was lost in a training accident at Mangalore on October 31. The building behind the aircraft was built in the 1930s as a combined terminal and control tower. It remained in existence into the 21st century, its façade hidden by progressive expansions of what is now a section of Terminal 3. Negative held by Bill Gray.
