Built as US Navy 33249, a Ventura that went to the Royal Canadian Air Force with serial 2180. Struck off strength in 1950, the aircraft was stored at Vulcan, AB in November 1951. Sold to Universal Trading Corp in 1954, it was acquired by Dee Howard in 1954 (N1212). Converted to a Super Ventura in 1956, it was a precursor of luxury biz-jets that appeared twenty years later. Pictured when owned by television evangelist Rex Humbard's Cathedral of Tomorrow church, it had been re-registered N4005 in September 1967.

On October 6, 2005, the aircraft departed on the early morning flight from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay when it encountered icing conditions. Requesting return to the airport, the pilot lost control nearing the turn to final and crashed on railway tracks next to the Red River.

Bought by Laurentian Air Services, the aircraft was refurbished and put into service as C-GLAB in August 1974. It flew around the province of Ontario until 1981 when it moved to Quebec with Air Schefferville. It remained in Quebec with several other bush operators until acquired by Wilderness Air in May 2000. Based in Vermilion Bay, C-GLAB was converted to a Vazar Turbine Otter over the winter of 2007 / 08.

Former Pakistan Air Force and SAFE Air - Straits Air Freight Express Bristol Freighter was bought by Trans - Provincial Airlines in 1989 to service the Snip Gold mine in and out of Bronson Creek, BC. The aircraft was bought by Hawkair Aviation in 1994 after TPA's bankruptcy in 1993. Former Pakistan Air Force and SAFE Air - Straits Air Freight Express Bristol Freighter was bought by Trans - Provincial Airlines in 1989 to service the Snip Gold mine in and out of Bronson Creek, BC. The aircraft was bought by Hawkair Aviation in 1994 after TPA's bankruptcy in 1993.
