This 727 was originally delivered to American as N6837 in July 1969, then bought by Express One, converted to a freighter in November 1993, registered N315NE and operated by Emery on behalf of the USPS. By September 2001 the plane had been retired and stored at Goodyear (GYR), yet evidently it escaped the Land of Sand and turned up at some point at Opa Locka and this was one of at least two different sets of titles that it carried there. The plane left for SE Asia in February 2008, was registered TU-TAB and then flew for Gading Sari and Lankan Cargo. it is now derelict at Colombo (CMB).

This An-26 was built in January 1980 and wore the registrations CCCP-39314 and UK-93914. It was also registered UK-26002 prior to export to the US and was operated by SRX Transcontinental on behalf of Avialeasing. In this picture, the titles forward of the registration have been painted over and the frame just appears to have withered away over time on the OPF ramp.

At the time of this photo the Convair was in storage at Miami under the ownership of Atlas Aircraft Corporation. It was sold to a Mexican operator May 81 as XB-CSE. In 1975 Florida Airlines took over both Air South and Shawnee Airlines, because their route networks supplemented that of Florida Airlines perfectly. The two airlines continued to operate under their own names as Florida Airlines subsidiaries, but their combined routes were marketed as "The Connection". Some aircraft carried large "The Connection" titles, and often also the actual airline's name in smaller size. DC-3 N79B for example is seen here carrying small "Florida Airlines" titles on the nose and below the reg.

I have deliberately not centred the subject aircraft as I thought the two Martin 404s were worthy background additions. For the record the Naples M404 was N40423 and the Marco Island Airways M404 was N969M.
