VH-NEN returns from fighting fires in Gippsland.

This is former USN Huey 159188. After its duty with the Navy it went to the USAF as 74-59188.

Former USN 158562 was wfu in 2011, but after a short stay at AMARG the Huey was upgraded and entered service again, this time with the USAF's 1st HS. It received a strange USAF serial number based on its former BuNo. The serial representation on the tail is strange too, with one of the digits missing.

With previous registrations C-GMXQ, G-BJZS and C-GWRD, this 1980 Bell 212 (still in basic Bristow Helicopters livery) has arrived in Vancouver to be registered C-GSQM with Okanagan Helicopters. Later leased several times as VH-LHL by Lloyd Helicopters 2004 - 09, it returned to Canadian Helicopters as C-GSQM. The helicopter is current with Sequoia Helicopters since 2011 at the time of uploading.

This Bell 212, C-GRIL (ex-XC-DIG) was seen on standby at the BC Wildfire Service's Pemberton Fire Base which is located about 1 km east of Pemberton Regional Airport (CYPS) and north of threshold to Runway 24. The base is the main fire crew base serving the Pemberton region during the fire season. It has a heliport, but no air tanker facility. The heliport is 19 km NE of the Whistler Municipal Heliport (CBE9) and 120 km north of Vancouver. Helicopters are assigned to the Pemberton base according the daily fire risk, but can often include a Tasman Helicopters AS350B-2 or AS350B-3.

A few minutes after take-off from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (DC), this Huey (former BuNo 158562) was in a north-bound hurry over the Potomac into the direction of the Thomas-Jefferson memorial. After its career with the US Marine Corps, the Huey arrived at AMARG on 26 Jan'11 with inventory code 7H0057. After some 7 months of storage, the USAF selected the Bell for conversion. It was taken from AMARG on 18 Aug'11 and was moved to Fleet Readiness Center East Cherry Point (NC) for depot-level maintenance overhaul. During '14 it was taken on strength of the 1st Helicopter Squadron at Andrews.
