Originally built as a B-25J at Kansas City in 1944 and then converted to TB-25N around 1952. It was damaged in a taxi accident at Connally AFB in 1958 and transferred to DM (MASDC?) for storage. It then entered the civil register as N3441G but a planned sprayer conversion fell through and it became derelict after open storage at South Omaha, NE. In 1969, restoration was began but never completed and the sectioned fuselage is now opened up for internal viewing at the SAC & Aerospace Museum.

The FJ-2 Fury was developed as a swept-wing, carrier capable fighter from the F-86 Sabre (the similarities are evident). Two Fokker 100s were later leased in from TAT but the airline ceased trading at the end of March 1994. The USAF flew more than 200 of the military U-6 variant for Medevac, courier service, passenger transport, light cargo, reconnaissance, rescue and aerial photography missions, the type even saw service in both the Korean and Southeast Asia Wars. This example is now on display at the National Museum of the USAF.

This is the second Do 335 A-0 built and is now a stunning exhibit at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian NASM. Allied forces found the Do-335 when they overran Oberpfaffenhofen airfield on 29th April 1945. After VE Day it was shipped to the USA aboard the British aircraft carrier HMS Reaper, along with other captured German aircraft and equipment for technology evaluation. Following USN testing from 1945-48 the Navy transferred the Pfeil (Arrow) to the museum's collection in 1961

This Lysander is one of 225 Mk. IIIs built in Canada during 1942. It served with the RCAF as 2346, most probably as a target tug or communication aircraft. This example was discovered in a farmer's field in Edmonton, Alberta, during the early 1970s but has been beautifully restored and is now on display in RAF 138 Squadron markings. During WWII this squadron was based at Tempsford flying clandestine missions for the SOE supplying resistance forces and transporting agents to and from occupied Europe.

Now preserved as a gate guard at the very interesting Aeronauticum museum. Obviously the museum has many interesting aeroplanes to be seen but the main museum building also has many fascinating photos and exhibits chronicling the Nordholz base through the ages, especially when it was a major Zeppellin base. Well worth a visit!

Obviously the museum has many interesting aeroplanes to be seen but the main museum building also has many fascinating photos and exhibits chronicling the Nordholz base through the ages, especially when it was a major Zeppellin base. Well worth a visit!
