Delivered to the USAr as CH-47A as 63-07919. It was accepted on 29 Oct'64. The Alpha was converted to Delta with serial 87-00082 and redelivered on 26 Feb'88. It was assigned to A/5-159th AVN and later stored at Ramstein (Germany) from Oct'97. It left that base on 4 Feb'98 for possibly Gulfport-Biloxi RAP (MS) and was stored with 1108th AVCRAD MS ARNG. Then moved to CCAD at Corpus Christi (TX) in Apr'98. After several operational assignments, it was converted to CH-47F with serial 11-08096 (c/n M8096) and redelivered on 12 Sep'11. It is seen here supporting a deliver of the first Dutch Apaches

Although no unit markings were carried, this Chinook belonged to the 7-101st AVN. It was deliverdd to the US Army as CH-47B with serial 67-18489 on 20 February 1968. It was converted to CH-47D with serial 88-00074 and redelivered on 27 February 1989. The Delta was then again converted to CH-47F and received serial 09-08069 (c/n M8069) and accepted on 15 September 2010.

Deliverded to the US Army as CH-47A 64-13126 on 21 Apr'65. Converted to CH-47D with serial 84-24165 and redelivered on 13 Aug'85). The heavy lift helicopter was Class A damaged in Afghanistan on 14 Feb'02 in unknown circumstances. It was flown to Frankfurt (Germany) in mid-March 2002, and left for probably Coleman Brracks (Germany) for damage assessment. Apparently it was repairable, so it returned to Frankfurt in Apr'02 and flown as air freight to the USA. It was converted to CH-47F and received serial 08-08053 (c/n M8053). Boeing redelivered the Foxtrot on 30 July 2009.

Dust all over, a weathered looking Chinook. Although no badges carried, the CH-47D belonged to the 7-101st AVN. It was delivered to the US Army as CH-47A 65-08015 and accepted on 10 May'66. It was converted to CH-47D with serial 86-01651 and redelivered on 27 Feb'87. The helo was leased to Canada as 147206 (Jan'09-July'11 and returned to US Army and shipped to USA. The CH-47D was then placed into storage with 309th AMARG at Davis Monthan AFB (AZ), 23 September 2011. It departed again for Canada on 18 Nov'16 and was since preserved at Petawawa (Ontario) with 450sq.

Delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Royal Netherlands Air Force) on 21 August 1998, this Chinook supported the 1(NLD)Air Task Force in 2008. Following other deployments in Mali in 2014 and 2017, the Chinook was returned to the Netherlands, and soon after withdrawn from use and placed in storage at Woensdrecht air base from September 2021.

All CH-47D's are withdrawn from service now. Six of them were sold to Billings Flying Services in Montana, USA. This one does not seem to be one of them. At the moment it is stored at Gilze-Rijen.

On static display at the Avalon Airshow was this RSAF CH-47D 183. The type is based at Oakey in Queensland. It is now being replaced by the Foxtrot model.

Seen here while taxiing to runway 28 for take off as local rules and regulations do not permit large helicopters to lift off from a stand. On 28 August 2003, 88-00098 was lost due to an accident in Iraq. The aircraft encountered brown-out conditions during landing at a refuel point and impacted the ground, coming to rest on its right side. No fatalities.
