The 222 MEA at Souda (Crete) was equipped with some 18 T-33A Shooting Stars. At least 4 of these were painted in a striking orange colourscheme and in use as target towing platform. These often took off from Souda with a supporting mission for the nearby NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) installation that was located at the Greek island. The target (an orange iron "bomb") was pulled on a very long rope behind the T-33A. On the NAMFI range air defense artillery tries to find the target and shoot at it... This 35092 can still be enjoyed... it's preserved at Tatoi museum since late 2000.

Adorned with the badge of 11 squadron (which in operational times they never wore), this T-bird was moved to Beauvechain when Brustem closed. Ex MAP 52-9892.

This aircraft was transferred to the Greek Air Force in 1971.

This T-33A is a weird one, preserved as 3323/56-1753 and T-33323, is originally serial 3333 with MDAP 56-1792

Don't be taken away by the incorrect registration of M-52. M-54 is representing M-52 of the 1960s Whisky-4 display team.

In Malmstrom's heritage row, painted with fake and incorrectly applied identity "061779". It is actually 57-0574. The real 56-1779 is on display in Duluth, MN (also painted with a fake identity).

This former Belgian T-bird was struck off charge in 1972. T-birds, although not nominally based at Soesterberg were nevertheless frequent visitors.
